Lankwitz is a pleasant residential suburb in the southwest of Berlin, bordering Steglitz by the Teltowkanal. Modest homes and small, locally-run businesses are evenly distributed throughout the district.

The territory has well-paved roads but not the most reliable of public transports. Safety is maintained by beat cops and the neighbourhood watch. The residents value their privacy and are not always keen to share information with outsiders. The suburb is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, with schools and parks attractive for middle-income couples looking to raise their children.

Lankwitz Ice Skating Rink[]

  • Athletics 1

An outdoor ice-skating rink located in a field, with its perimeter marked by a mesh fence. The ice skating picks up in winter when the grounds freeze over. During the season, visitors can enjoy curling, disco, children's disco, and plain old ice-skating. Spectators can sit on the bleachers placed at the edge of the fields. In the summer, the facilities are empty and the grounds are practically deserted.
